This was my project for the Fall 2020 MAGD Expo at UW-Whitewater. I wanted to expand on my skills in environment modeling, so I decided to give myself the creative challenge of modeling a natural landscape instead of architecture like I did with my previous projects. Also, I was planning on using it in a Greco-Roman themed short film in the summer prior to the Fall semester, and I felt it would be a good choice for my project. It was a tricky process–especially with the texturing of the land itself alongside the waterfall–but it was a fun learning experience and I got to learn much about how to render in arnold.
Some sketches from the designing process of the environment, ranging from maps, height refs, and statue designs.
